The Bannerghatta National Park

The Bannerghatta National Park is situated in the state of Karnataka.  The area of this park is about 104.27 sq. km.  This park was established in the 1974.

A part of this national park has been declared as a biological park.  This is the first butterfly park in our country.  It spreads over an area of 7.5 acres.

This butterfly park includes a butterfly conservatory museum and audio visual room.  The conservatory has a wonderful tropical setting with a host of beautiful plants and shrubs to attract butterflies.  This park is also famous for wide variety of birds and animals.  It is well known for tiger and lion safaris.  Leopards, lions, zebras, Bengal tigers, panthers, porcupines, rhinoceroses, elephants, spotted deer’s, white tigers, bison, panthers and bears also spotted in their park.
More than 20 different species of butterflies are present in this park because of the flora’s attraction.  This park has got the distinction of housing butterflies conservatory in India.
