Manas National Park

The Manas National Park is located in the foot hills of the Himalayas in Western Assam.  This park was declared as a tiger reserve in 1974.  It is a world heritage site in 1985.  And then it becomes a national park in 1990. Enchanting Manas River is the focal point of Manas National Park.  Manas are one of the tiger reserve sanctuary in India.  This park is known for its project tigers, rhino and elephants. It is one the two tiger projects in Assam.
This sanctuary is a home to a great variety of wild life that includes the golden langur, hispid here, pygmy hog, capped langur, Indian one-horned rhinoceros, elephant, gaur and hog deer. Mana’s park boasts of the largest population of the endangered Bengal florican in the world.  It is also a great place to see the great hornbill.
